Haweli Of Belomnt

Haweli of Clapham in the community

Fine Indian cuisine and proud sponsors of the Lambeth Business Awards.

The Chowdhurry family have been running high quality Indian restaurants serving the finest Indian cuisine for the last 15 years. They currently have two very popular restaurants, Haweli of Belmont and Haweli of Clapham. Both restaurants benefit from having smart, contemporary interiors and are in convenient locations but most of all the food is of a very high quality. Indeed the name Haweli means 'Palace'.

Despite high commodity prices Mirage Chowdhurry who manages Belmont insists on using the freshest, best quality ingredients whether that be rice, spices, exotic fruits, vegetables or meat. "We cannot afford to let our clients down by reducing the quality of our food" he says, "nor can we pass on the higher prices, as a result we are always looking at other ways of saving money so that we can constantly deliver great food at a great price!".

Service is also very important. Staff are trained to service clients to a very high standard, Kieran Chowdhurry who manages Clapham explains "Top quality service is an important part of the Haweli dining experience, our polite waiters smartly dressed in white linen provide a welcoming service that helps you unwind and puts you in the perfect mood to enjoy our award-winning dining experience".

Haweli of Belmont and Clapham both have committed to support their respective local communities. The Belmont business has recently joined the Sutton Town Centre Partnership and actively supports Sutton town centre events, local Rotary, The Princes Alice Trust and St.Raphael's Hospice to name but a few. As a consequence of the STCP programme Mirage decided to introduce live music into the restaurant for one night during the week on trial, this has been a resounding success and is now a regular feature on the agenda. Kieran is considering the same for Clapham. The Clapham branch supports the Abbeville Summer Fete, the inspiring Colourscape event on Clapham Common and is a key sponsor for the prestigious Lambeth Business Awards.

Both Mirage and Kieran agree that " It is through local sponsorship that we can give something back to the community. We are both careful to choose only established high profile events which have close links to schools, communities or businesses."
